Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore started its journey in the year 1984. It was founded by Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation, a charitable educational trust of Sakthi Group. The vision of the college is to become a technical university with high standards. It provides quality education to prepare students for life and work equipping them to contribute to the technological, economic and social development of India. It has the academic partnerships with Technical University of Liberec, Czech Republic, Texas Tech University - Lubbock, Texas, USA, Oklahoma State University, USA and National Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA), France.

The college has a Central Library of 17,000 sq.ft (1575 sq. m.) with all modern facilities such as state of the art Library Security Systems, CCTV systems and Fire/Smoke sensor systems. The college provides excellent placement facilities for its students. The college has over 225 well-qualified teaching staff and about 200 supporting technical staff. The college runs an alumni association. There are recreational activities, which go on in the form of sports and games.
